Thomson's Meadow Brown

Appearance

The Thomson's Myrtil is a small butterfly above the orange forewings bordered by a wide brown band with a black eyespot doubled with white pupils at the apex and completely brown hindquarters or with little orange. The male has a large brown triangular androconial band. The underside of the foreparts is similar orange bordered in brown with the eyespot at the apex pupiled in white, that of the hind legs is a dull light brown marked in the male with a line of eyespots outlined in orange.

Range and habitat

Thomson's Meadow Brown is recorded from Greece, Turkey, and Iran.
