Range and habitat

Odontesthes bicudo inhabits warm-temperate freshwater lagoons in the northeast of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, in southern Brazil. It is endemic to partially isolated lagoons, close to the city of Osório, semi-interconnected with the Tramandaí River basin, towards brackish waters of the estuarine zone.
